Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor head-to-head: How the superstars match up ahead of proposed June 10 mega fight in Las Vegas

It's the fight everyone's talking about.

But it now appears as though the talking can finally stop; Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor have set the date, named their venue and agreed their price.

As Boxing and MMA prepare to collide in Las Vegas on June 10, netting each man $100million - Sportsmail brings you the tale-of-the-tape ahead of one of the most hotly-anticipated fight in recent memory.

Status and titles

The reason there is so much hype around this fight is the enormously high profiles of the two men involved.

Both men will go down as legends in their sport, they've reached the top of their game and have the personalities to carry their respective arts in a business sense as well as in the ring.

Mayweather is a five-weight world champion, unbeaten in 49 professional fights and has held a title for the best part of two decades.

McGregor, on the other hand, is the face of the UFC and has dragged the sport into the mainstream. He's the organisation's first two-weight champion, it's biggest draw and has made himself one of the planet's foremost sports stars.

Record

Mayweather has won all 49 of his professional fights, following an impressive amateur stand, levelling the career record of boxing great Rocky Marciano. The temptation has always been there to make it 50, though, with the McGregor fight perhaps providing him with a potentially easier route to the magic number.

McGregor has fought 10 times in the UFC, winning nine and losing once to Nate Diaz, but holds an overall MMA record of 21-3. 

Current activities 

Mayweather has been retired since 2015 and is on a well-publicised world tour, which has seen him meet a host of celebrities and fans, host events and even turn up at a McDonald's in Liverpool in the early hours of the morning.

McGregor is taking a break from the octagon following his victory over Jose Alvarez at UFC 205 in November and is awaiting the birth of his first child with partner Dee Devlin.

Physical attributes

Despite coming from different worlds, the two fighters are pretty similar when it comes to their physical stature. Mayweather stands 5ft 8in, McGregor is an inch taller with a two inch reach advantage over his opponent. McGregor, at 28, is of course 12 years younger than 40-year-old Mayweather.

Irishman McGregor's UFC titles have come at lightweight and featherweight, where weights differ from 136-155lbs, while Mayweather is a five weight world champion. He finished his career fighting at welterweight and weighed 146lbs for his most recent fight.

Fighting style

Mayweather is a boxer and will be doing what he's done for almost all his life - box. All the intrigue surrounding this fight is focused on McGregor, who will be taking a voyage into the relative unknown.

He has boxed before, though, at youth level in Ireland and was a successful young fighter before making his MMA debut as an amateur a decade ago. 

Now the biggest name in the sport, he still employs many of the boxing techniques and is known as a striker, having attempted 993 strikes during his UFC career compared to just eight takedown attempts. 

Nicknames 

This fight will see 'Money' take on 'The Notorious'.

Money Mayweather has obvious origins, Mayweather loves money, he enjoys spending money and he is very good at making money. He was also known as 'Pretty Boy' by amateur teammates because he had relatively few scars.

McGregor has been known as 'The Notorious' for much of his career because he is, well, notorious, but he was at one point considering an official change. He has never made the switch to the Celtic Tiger, though

Social media

This will have little impact if and when the two meet in the ring, but is certainly a barometer of the duo's popularity.

Mayweather has the edge here, with his combined 21.8million followers on Instagram and Twitter beating Mayweather's total of 14.7million. 

Both use social media for the same thing - regularly posting images of their training regimes, appearances and bling.
