Details emerge of Barcelona’s incredible offer for Real Madrid playmaker Isco
Barcelona make a move for Isco
As the months pass, the future of Isco looks more and more uncertain with his contract at Real Madrid expiring at the end of the 2017/2018 season.
Isco has been heavily involved in Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid squad this season although he does not always start due to the strength in depth at Los Blancos.
As a result, Isco is not certain to stay at Real Madrid beyond this summer and has been linked with major English clubs such as Chelsea and Tottenham.
Isco on a free…
On Tuesday evening, the El Pais journalist Diego Torres appeared on Catalan RAC1 radio station and he revealed Barcelona’s incredible offer to lure Isco to the Nou Camp.
It is a pertinent time to point out that transfers between Real Madrid and Barcelona are very very rare, but the likes of Luis Figo and Luis Enrique have crossed the divide.
The long term replacement for Andres Iniesta?
Barcelona will pay Isco 20 million euros for running down his contract over the course of his deal at the Camp Nou. They will also make the former Malaga playmaker one of the highest paid players at the club on a five-year deal.
It seems that Barcelona see Isco as a natural replacement for Andres Iniesta, who is now 32.
Isco, is according to Torres, aware of the offer from Barcelona but has not responded.
Were Isco to run down his contract at Real Madrid, he would face a seriously awkward 2017/2018 season and it could impact his mindset for the World Cup in Russia at the end of that campaign.
This quite crazy prospect for Real Madrid is certainly one to keep an eye on in the coming months…
Alternatively, and perhaps more likely, this could be a way for Isco to pressure Real Madrid in any negotiations over a new deal at the Bernabeu!
