Exclusive: Blues in talks over game as part of SportPesa shirt agreement

Everton club secretary David Harrison holds talks in Tanzania
Everton are considering a pre-season friendly in Tanzania as part of their expected new sponsorship deal with SportPesa.
A Blues delegation has been in the East African country this week on a fact-finding mission and met with local officials.
Everton’s head of football operations Dave Harrison and Dave Lewis, the club’s head of security and stadium safety, made the near 5,000 mile trip.
The friendy game would most likely take place in the Tanzania Main National Stadium, in the country’s largest city of Dar es Salaam.
SportPesa are expected to be named as the Blues’ new shirt sponsor, replacing long-term partners Chang, in a deal that forms part of a £75m windfall for the club.
Everton secured a naming rights deal for their Finch Farm training ground with USM and a tie-up with African online betting firm SportPesa is expected to now follow.
And as part of the link-up, Ronald Koeman’s side are in talks over playing a game in Tanzania before the beginning of the 2017/18 campaign.
