ZANACO are through to the Group Stage of the CAF Champions League after a barren draw in the second leg against Young Africans of Tanzania in a game played at Heroes stadium on Saturday afternoon.
ZANACO who did the job away at Yanga when Kwame Attrams scored the equaliser will be playing Group stages of Africa’s top flight club competition for the first time in their history.
Yanga will be relegated into the Play Offs of the CAF Confederation Cup after failing to score against ZANACO in Zambia.
Meanwhile ZESCO came from behind twice to draw 2-2 against Le MESSEGER de Ngozi of Burundi to qualify to the Play offs of the CAF Confederation Cup . Carrying a 2-0 lead from the first leg Zesco fell behind 1-0 in the first half and Jesse Were opened his account for the season with an equaliser to end the half 1-1.
The second half saw the Burundi team take another lead before Odiambo equaliser again and the game ended 2-2 with Zesco leading on aggregate 4-2.
Both teams will await the draws of the Group stages and Play offs respectively to negotiate their progress in the two competitions.
Zesco would have to negotiate two more games before they get into the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.
