Afcon hero goalkeeper Ondoa returns to club nightmare

Afcon hero goalkeeper Ondoa returns to club nightmare
The highly talented Cameroon number one has not played a competitive club football match in ten months
Africa Cup of Nations best goalkeeper and gold winner with Cameroon -Fabrice Ondoa- has returned to his nightmare stay at his Segunda Division club, Sevilla Atletico – or more accurately Spanish football.
The gloveman is currently on loan to the side from Gimnastic Tarragona whom he left in search of regular game time but those wishes have went in vein as he remain uncapped since joining in August last year and was once again absent in the 1-1 draw against Luga on Friday.
Ondoa last played a club match on 13 March 2016 and has surprisingly managed to play only 13 matches in the last five seasons. He has played more international football, featuring 28-times for the Indomitable Lions since debuting in 2014, than club football.
But his form at the Nations Cup recently left many in awe of his talent and many are still wondering where he plays his trade and was one of Cameroon’s most outstanding performers in their triumph campaign.

Born in Yaounde 21-years ago, Ondoa joined Barcelona in 2009 through the Samuel Eto'o Foundation. He then progressed through the club's youth system, until he was promoted to the reserves.
In January 2016 Ondoa signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Gimnastic and is currently contracted to them until 2019.
His cousin Andre Onana – who also joined him at Barcelona juniors in 2010- plays regularly in the Eredivisie for Ajax Amsterdam whom he joined in 2015.
It remains to be seen if Ondoa’s future lies outside Spanish football and should he leave, which league would best suit him
